First American Credit Union is dedicated to empowering the next generation of students who are committed to service and uplifting their communities. We aim to not only support students financially but also empower them with essential skills for their future, as well as to foster personal growth and connection with the residents of their communities.
This scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate leadership, social responsibility, financial literacy, and a commitment to making a positive difference in the world around them.
Scholarship Amount: $5,000

Eligibility Criteria:
- High school applicants must reside in the communities that First American CU serves
- Applicant must be a member or become a member of First American Credit Union
- Minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
- Demonstrated at least 40 hours in community service projects or initiatives between August 1, 2024 through April 1, 2025
- Completion of a Financial Literacy Course
- Requires submission proof of FAFSA submission
Requirements:
- Complete a recognized financial literacy course or program. This could be through your high school, community organization, online platforms such as Khan Academy or Learning Lab+ from GreenPath.
- Two Letters of Recommendation: One from a teacher or school administrator and another from a community leader or organization where you volunteered.
- Transcript: Submit an official high school transcript.
- Resume: Include a resume detailing your extracurricular activities, work experience and community service.
- Create a personal financial plan outlining your anticipated expenses and income for your first year of college or career.
- Application form: Complete the online scholarship application, including a personal statement of a minimum of 500 words describing your community service involvement and how it has impacted your life.
- Submit proof of FAFSA submission
